Epic moment at Madison Square Garden. Reed was the Knicks key player in that NBA Finals but he injured at the beginning of the game 5. He did not play at game 6 but the crowd went mad when Willis joined to the warm up at game 7. And the MSG went mad again when a notoriously injured Reed scored the first basket of the game. He scored his last basket in the next play and the rest is history

- In 1970 Reed became the first player in NBA history to be named NBA All-Star Game MVP, NBA Season MVP and NBA Finals MVP in the same season. Nobody else has won the NBA Season MVP being drafted in a second round. He would win the NBA Finals MVP again in 1973
